Multi-object optimization crashes shapeworks studio

Hello, I’m experimenting with using shapeworks for my research, I tried to run a simple multi-object optimization (two ventricles, single shape) on shapeworks studio but it consistently crashes despite reducing number of points, grooming options, and optimization parameters.

Here is the error,

I very much doubt that such standard geometries would crash the shapeworks software, my best guess is that this is an installation issue, I have downloaded this on a windows computer with the most recent version. I can also switch to linux or use python if that is needed.

Thank you!

Hi, is there a chance you could send the log file?

The location is shown in the preferences window and would be something similar to this:

C:/Users/amorris/AppData/Roaming\shapeworks\logs\studio-2023-04-22_09_29_57.txt

I tried to post the full message but hit the character limit, is there an email I can send you

amorris@sci.utah.edu

I believe the error message for this in 6.3.2 is being written to the console, unfortunately. If you could try running ShapeWorks Studio from a terminal, it may be printed to the terminal when it crashes.

You may also want to try the most recent 6.4 release candidate:

The project saving/loading has been rewritten and the bug you are encountering is likely already fixed. The 6.4 release should be posted soon.
