I downloaded the installation .exe file of Shapeworks, and what I need to do is install it and then get start, right? But the readme.txt told me to download the Miniconda for Windows, and run install\_shapeworks.bat to create a conda environment and install python packages. Is that necessary before we can correctly use the Shapeworks in GUI?

It’s only necessary in order to run any of the operations/analysis that use Python. The basic groom/optimize/analyze workflow will work without. ShapeWorksStudio will tell you if it can’t load the python interpreter and refer you back to the instructions if necessary.
